You flash a large image (often 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB) onto an external hard drive or SSD. You boot your PC directly from this drive.

Do not simply drag and drop the files. You must use an image flashing utility to write the operating system partitions correctly. Download a tool like or Rufus .
